Bonding

Bonding is a technique that can also work wonders for your smile. Completed in one visit, bonding is ideal for correcting smaller defects such as a chipped or jagged tooth where more than 2/3 of the natural tooth is still intact, spots or discolorations, and to re-shape a tooth. During this process, tooth-colored composite resin materials are “bonded” on the front surface or the inside of a tooth. The dentist then hardens these layers with a curing light that prepares the surface for shaping and polishing.

Bonding is generally not as permanent a process as veneers, and can be vulnerable to the same kind of staining your natural teeth are prone to.
